Brent Butcher, Director
Brent Butcher began his career as a volunteer working with Adult Probation and Parole in 1982. Two years later, he was hired as an AP&P officer, and in 1989 he was promoted to a supervisor position.
He was promoted to an assistant regional administrator over the Fremont Community Correctional Center in 1993, where he worked for approximately seven years before becoming the deputy regional administrator for Salt Lake AP&P. In 2002, Director Butcher became the Davis County regional administrator. He later transferred to Ogden as the regional administrator for the Weber/Morgan County area.
In February 2007, Director Butcher was appointed the Division Director of Adult Probation and Parole for the State of Utah. He has an associate's degree in science and a bachelor's degree in psychology/sociology from the University of Utah.
Geri A. Miller, Deputy Director
Geri Miller began her career with the Utah Department of Correction as a correctional officer at the Utah State Prison in Draper, and later as an Adult Probation and Parole officer. In 1999, she was promoted to the position of pre-service training manager at the Fred House Academy. She also later worked as the management development specialist in Human Resources, where she implemented multiple staff training and development programs.
Deputy Director Miller has worked as an Adult Probation and Parole staff supervisor, and also an assistant regional administrator. In April 2007, she accepted an appointment to her current position as AP&P Deputy Division Director.
She has an associate's degree in science, a bachelor's degree in psychology and biology, and a Master in Public Administration. She is also the area chairwoman for the University of Phoenix Criminal Justice program.
