The Government Records Access and Management Act (GRAMA) is a comprehensive law that deals with the management of government records. The law outlines exactly who has access to specific records, while detailing the process for requesting such information. GRAMA is an attempt to balance the public’s constitutional right of access to information regarding government conduct, individuals’ constitutional rights to privacy and the public policy and safety interest in allowing government to restrict access to certain records for the overall good.
