Matt is employed by the Utah Attorney General’s Office and has served as in-house counsel for the Utah Department of Corrections since 2010. Matt provides legal representation and advice to the Department in various areas of law, including compliance, civil rights, records and contracts.

Matt has a Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Utah and a law degree from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University.

Prior to joining the Utah Attorney General’s Office, Matt worked in private practice, representing clients in civil and criminal matters.
