A big congrats to our Sex and Kidnap Registration and Interstate Compliance Unit Team on receiving the Governor's Award for Excellence in Innovation and Efficiency!
Under the leadership of the talented Jim Ingle Jr., the team has developed extensive expertise that has enabled it to avoid interstate transfer violations and facilitate the safe and effective international movement and supervision of offenders.
In collaboration with statewide law enforcement agencies, the non-compliant offender rate has dropped from 12 percent to 3.9 percent in two years.
Team members regularly train other law enforcement agencies, judges and Adult Probation & Parole staff, earning nationwide respect and recognition of their knowledge and efficiency. The unit was the first in the nation to create a unified compact and registry office, which allows for more efficient use of staff and better offender tracking.
The unit, which includes seven case managers, is able to respond at a moment’s notice to assist during Amber Alerts and other public safety emergencies, which also has drawn high praise from several partners for excelling at community notification.
“We try to use a customer-driven model, focused on the needs of AP&P agents and our partner agencies,” Ingle said.
Way to go!
