Mail Room Named Unit of the Quarter


The Draper prison's mail room staff was recently named the department's "Unit of the Quarter" and given the Director's Award of Excellence.

The mail room has worked closely with investigators to intercept and head off drugs or other contraband from entering the prison system. This effort comes in addition to screening and processing approximately 10,000 pieces of mail per week using a staff of eight.

Beginning Nov. 1, the mail room will begin turning away mail containing crayon, markers, or stickers that could be disguising drugs such as Suboxone.
