MATTHEW ANDERSON

Director of Administrative Services

Matt serves as the Department’s administrative services director.

In his current position, he oversees the agency’s administrative support functions including the Records Office, GRAMA (public records) requests, State Vehicles (Fleet), department policies and procedures, and offender grievances/disciplinary appeals.

 

Prior to this position, he was employed by the Utah Attorney General’s Office and served as in-house counsel for the Utah Department of Corrections since 2010. Matt provided legal representation and advice to the Department in various areas of law, including compliance, civil rights, records and contracts.

 

Matt has a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Utah and a law degree from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University. Prior to joining the Utah Attorney General’s Office, Matt worked in private practice, representing clients in civil and criminal matters.
