Panel presentations by residents of the Con-Quest and ExCell programs at the Utah State Correctional Facility or inmates at the Central Utah Correctional Facility are designed to help the public understand events that lead to incarceration and the realities of prison life. During the presentations, inmates share their individual stories and answer questions. In addition to promoting public understanding, the interactions give inmates an opportunity to reflect on their own actions and bad decision-making, while providing a cautionary tale to at-risk youth and others.
Panels at the Utah State Correctional Facility are available to educational classes for high school or college students only. We are limited to groups of 35 attendees. Requests need to be submitted 45 days prior to attendance. Please submit the request form by emailing it to UDC-USCFWardensOffice@utah.gov. Once your request has been received and approved you will receive the form for the attendee’s background check information. Anyone attending will need to provide the following information: Name, Date of Birth, and Driver’s license/state ID card number for the background check to be completed. Requests are subject to approval through the Warden’s office.
Individuals interested in attending a panel presentation at Central Utah Correctional Facility must be at least 14 years of age and must pass a background clearance. Minors must be accompanied by an adult 21 or over. Requests to participate must be made 45 days in advance.
