Angie Stevens was named Audit Bureau Director for the Utah Department of Corrections in October 2024.
Angie has worked for UDC for 28 years and brings a strong background in many aspects of correctional operations to her role in Audit. She started her career as a part-time office clerk at the former Utah State Prison in Draper.
As a committed civilian staff member, Angie has held a number of roles in many divisions of UDC, including administrative support positions at USP and in the Prisons Division administrative office. She also served as a Criminal Information Technician for AP&P, a Contract & Grant Analyst in the Finance Bureau, and most recently served as an Auditor IV in the Internal Audit Bureau.
Internal audit serves an important role in the department to ensure transparency and accountability. The bureau also helps the department identify risks and make recommendations to improve performance.
