Heather Anderson brings a deep-seated connection to the field, having grown up in a family tied to Corrections and Law Enforcement. With over seven years of experience in Human Resources, Anderson started as an HR department of one, managing three states, and quickly developed the skills needed and discovered a passion for human resources and employment law. Since then, she has worked in various industries, including Security, Transportation, and Construction.
Anderson is SHRM-CP certified, has a bachelor’s degree in human resource management from Western Governors University, a Juris Masters in Employment Law and HR Risk Management from Florida State University, and is currently obtaining her Juris Doctorate at Vermont Law and Graduate School.
Anderson volunteers as a Director on the Utah State SHRM board (Society for Human Resource Management), helping to elevate Human Resources and improve the volunteer experience. She also volunteers at the Fraternal Order of Eagles (a local non-profit), the SSL Chamber of Commerce Women in Business, and Utah Women in Leadership’s A Bolder Way Forward. An accomplished speaker, Anderson has spoken at the Utah SHRM conference, ULEAP, and other HR conferences throughout Utah.
When away from work and education, Anderson can be found spending time with her family, playing billiards, or golfing.
